Thanks and, yes, getting parts is difficult. I've even taken to some stock piling, with an extra expansion tank. I'd hate to lose my car cause of a piece of plastic (like the kingdom for want of a nail!).
I ordered the OEM ignition switch yesterday and will let you know how it turns out. But I do think it's the culprit. For the hell of it, I squirted a bunch of contact cleaner down the keyhole and the instrumentation lights have been normal the past few times I started up.
