Note that the A/C compressor comes off fairly easily, only three or four bolts holding it in, and will give you a lot more room. In fact, when I removed the compressor I found that one of the bolts was broken, so it was good that I took it off.
I did find a used blue fender locally for my white car, best that I could do - I need to get it painted ($300+) before installing now that it's warming up. Before that I got scammed by someone responding to my saabnet want ad who claimed that they had a white fender - how nice during the pandemic while my wife was having major surgery. Lessons: 1. don't pay strangers using Venmo, which offers NO buyer protection; 2. there are scammers active on saabnet.
