All of my Saabs ((3)9000's, (1) 9-5) will kill the battery if I don't drive/charge them regularly. Once charged the batteries all test good. The 9000's will usually hang in there for up to a week or so, maybe a little longer. My 04 GMC truck will kill the battery if it sits for weeks also. None of the batteries are new and they all have been deep discharged multiple times due to sitting. Various brands. I have been using a Harbor Freight cheapo solar charger to keep them topped up. It's the cheap $15 one that plugs in the cigarette lighter. No controller needed as it is really low output. They are hit/miss so if you buy one, take it out of the package when you walk out the door and make sure the blue LED starts flashing when you go outside. Save yourself the trip back to the store when you find out it doesn't work. So far, so good. I got in the green CSE this morning and it fired right up. The solar charger was sitting on the passenger seat, not even on the dash top or rear deck. I have thought about permanently installing it and wiring it direct.
