Thanks for your thoughtful reply Skibumm100 !!
I don't have access to any fancy tools like a tech2 & frankly there are too many failure points, which makes this unattractive to try & repair.
The lock switches seldom work & it seems likely that the alarm module has gone nuts.
Funny thing here is that my previous Aero (94) had all this stuff working flawlessly.
I do treasure this Aero - while also facing that it is 26 years old & the P.O. did some very poor quality work to it.
My hope in posting here was that perhaps there is just a fuse or connection which could be removed more easily than opening up the under-dash area.
If I must do that then I'll just remove the alarm module altogether - and if that also kills off the power locks, no big deal 'cuz I can easily live without 'em.
Relating with your mention of your truck - my partner's 2011 Outback has just a single key operated lock - super expensive to replace remote keys - and other electronic annoyances which are now considered to be 'normal'.
Makes me glad that I'm an old guy 'cuz I won't be around to see much more nuttinesses !!
Thanks Again.
