I would think that a 1989 9000 Turbo would have had ABS brakes - my former 1989 Volvo 740 Turbo certainly did, and the two cars were competitive on features with each other. But the pressure accumulator that I am referring to is not just for the ABS system - the brakes in my brother's 900 barely worked before he replaced the accumulator.
