If SAAB has placed it in production they are confident in it. Caterpillar turbos on our three 750KWatt generators at my hospital plus the manifolds will glow a respectable shade of red when we load them down for their yearly testing. Glowing manifolds happen on all engines if you run them near max. so can take it, some can't. Ever mow the lawn too late in the evening? The exhaust muffler makes an impressive red nose. The color on your manifold didn't get there from running cool. It has that lovely tan shade by burning off surface stuff while running hot.
