This is NOT going to be an easy drop-in. Too much has changed from the fairly basic '71 to a 2.0L 16-valve engine.
Is your '71 a carbureted or D-jet fuel injected car?
If you were swapping an 8V H-engine into a late '72-on with the 2.0L SAAB engine, I believe that the intake and exhaust manifolds could be used, so you could keep the D-jet injection (not really desirable), but since you have the Triumph-Standard engine, the manifolds will not bolt intercahnge and you have to change the injection system. Since you're now considering putting in a 16-valve, you're going to need _all_ of the electronic engine controls and the wiring harness for them.
Some people have put in the high speed pump from a K-jet system in place of the D-jet pump, without having to change the tank and cut the hole in the trunk floor for access to the pump in the top of the tank (a royal PITA). It isn't necessary to have the pump inside the tank, it's just that SAAB found it to be a convenient place to put it out of the way. Also, the tank size changed at some point (it may have been before the '75 switch to K-Jet), and the track rod was relocated on the body, so the larger CIS tank will not fit in a '71 without that mod.
But I'm forgetting, you are swapping in a 16-valve. Those systems have a pre-pump before the main pump, and I'm not sure how necessary that is, or what mods you have to make. I've only replaced a 9000 pump for one of these injection systems, so I'm not completely familiar with the c900 version.
