Thanks for all the info, I will do some research on WURs and see what I can find. I'm going to guess that all of the mid 80's CIS were Lambda regardless of manufacturer, so I don't see any problem with the interaction. I agree that you should be able to get any of them re-calibrated to be close to the Saab curve (actually the whole system would be better behaved if you leaned out the mixture a tad slower from a mid-temperature start. You do need more fuel on boost, but that's almost always when the wide-open-throttle switch is closed and the Lambda doesn't try to correct under that condition. I think 8:1 is too rich for my liking, but I might buy 10:1 or so - typically "richest best torque" is around 10.5:1. The only reason I ever saw anything run richer than that is catalyst protection on long grades - you have to run it so rich there's no oxygen left to react in the converter. Occasionally we used rich running for piston protection, but I don't think that's an issue with the specific power I'm going to get from the "B" engine.
