If your car is a later car 1978 on, or has previously had the brake master cylinder replaced and consequently received a new fluid reservoir (1977 and earlier brake MCs were superceded as service parts with the later version which uses fluid level to turn on the warning light instead of pressure differential. The different MC requires the later reservoir, so the separate brake and clutch fluid supply sections were superseded with the later version which has a common fluid supply for both). Here's the gotcha: The same brake MC/reservior is used to service both manual trans and automatic trans cars. So, the nipple on the bottom of the reservoir which feeds fluid to the clutch MC is molded closed on the service reservoirs. For manual trans cars, you have to snip off the end of the nipple to allow fluid to flow from the reservoir down into the clutch MC. But, it's not obvious that you need to do this, and it's real easy to just put the hose on the blocked nipple. My clutch, amazingly, worked fine for 4 years (with no fluid from the reservoir) before I tried to bleed it and found this out! So, if you can't get fluid to flow by gravity or pressure bleeding, you may want to pull the hose off the reservoir and make sure the nipple is open.
Good Luck!
Gary
