Jon, This issue can also be from mis wired computer harness. Unfortunately, you really need to confirm and eliminate this multi- poential unique upgrade issue before anything. I remember you said the conversion was done by a Saab expert, however, I've seen this important item overlooked many times. Once this is taken out of the picture, If you still have that same issue, it may come down to a bad vacuum advance. But it could also be from simply having incorrect mixture setting. But, here too I'm jumping to far ahead. If you simply had a 2.0 '73-'74 with this idle issue, we could try to take it through known possibilities, and treat this as a normal car. Once you confirm the computer harness, look at your car from then on as either a '73 or '74 and consider it OEM. That will be based on if you have the T fitting on your intake, or the large PVC valve the '73 shared with the 1.85 '72. Remember how we confirmed all your fuel injection component numbers a while back? Your car is component wise already OEM. I may be heading down CT way in a few weeks, so maybe we can coordinate something.
