Aaron, my buck would be on the battery not being all that great. This was the culprit on my 99 and my 9000. Sometimes they will act funny like this for a while and then be fine for a bit, then funny again. You can have it tested or, if you know it is growing old, just replace it.
My 99 still has the occasional start-up problem but I KNOW it's a short...I'll turn the key and nothing will happen for a few seconds and then the starter goes... Not all the time, just some of the time, and sometimes, the starter will not turn unless I jumper it(direct power to the solenoid). If I get the thing to kick, then the key method will work again....go figure. i don't have the time to address knick knack things anymore so they pile up.
Sorry about not getting in touch when I was back in Utah...turned out to be the absolute worst trip of my life. From Travelocity screwing up my ticket, to getting wicked sick to having a good friend die during child birth. Just an overall stupid weekend that I hope to someday forget. Maybe this summer if you are still around?
