Hi all. Haven't posted in a long time for a few reasons.
1) my little 99T has been running very well (until now), minus it blowing coolant every now and then out of the resevoir.
2) I am soooo close to getting out of my grad program, I can taste the new jobs (might be moving to Denver, BTW), but I have been busy with the thesis.
Anyway: my car has been not starting sometimes because the battery is running down and getting less than 10V (I have a voltometer gauge in my car). It is random and I've found helpful folks to jump start my car (fires right up) but it is getting REALLY annoying - I can't trust it. I've had it happen in warm weather, cold weather, after slow driving, rapid driving, etc. No pattern. I scraped off my battery cable connections thinking that maybe corrosion was preventing a charge to no avail.
My guesses are:
1) the cooling fan is coming on and draining the batt. after I park. Maybe adding/checking coolant will help (I'll do that tonight)
2) maybe I have some short in the electrical system that is drainig the battery. The thing is, I can go days without driving and have the car start right up, then I could drive for 30 minutes, park, get back in the car in 15 min and have the car refuse to turn over.
So - any thoughts?
