Doug, Having one of those is a nice luxery, but not needed for Djet diagnosis. Any meter wll do the trick, except you need to have a true RMS meter to get proper readings for testing the injectors. What you do need is a factory manual for information the aftermarket ones don't provide. Gery, The key to D-jet is keep it simple. For your Timing, As Doug said, Get it to TDC. Pull your spark plug and confirm your at TDC and not 180 off. If The Position of the rotor seems a little off, Dont pull the Distributor out to start your fine tuning. It will run being way off and can be addressed later with a timing gun. Just confirm as much as possible, and then start from the beginning again. One thing to to always keep in mind is the alternator connections with D-jet.They must be connected at all times.
