If it were anywhere in Texas, I would be there in a heart beat. These cars don't seem to exist down here anymore. Even though I drive nearly 35,000 miles a year, usualy up to Austin from San Antonio, I have yet to see another on the road, or sitting in a yard or driveway for that matter. My last "99 spotting" in Texas that was not residing in a junk yard had to be around 1994. There have been a total of four in local junk yards since then. The last one I have found, I rescued from Pick N Pull in 2001. Even B motor 900s are pretty much extinct in my area now.
Earlier this year a guy not two miles from me had a solid 79 900 5dr turbo sitting in his driveway. Apparently, it had been sitting in his driveway for several years on a culdisac in the neighborhood I grew up in, and never knew it was there. I told him I would take it, just to give me a couple of weeks to make some space. When that day came, I learned from his doughter that the man donated the car without even calling me. She wouldn't tell me who they donated the car to either. I only hope a true Saab enthusiest picked it up.
Yes, I am a Saab pack rat, and yes your story saddens me:-(
