Not to quibble, but the choke is on the center carb...

Another thing to check for (if the original vacuum fuel pump has not been replaced), is whether the pump diaphragm is torn and leaking. If so, I would suggest plugging off the old pump (or removing it and blanking the flange on the block) and replacing it with a low pressure electronic pump... available at most auto parts outlets for about $20.
