"Also, just today I noticed that it was running about 20 pounds lower than it has been since I have had the car (last March). Any ideas on what might be causing this? I have a mechanical oil pressure gauge. Do any of your V4's run with this low of oil pressure?"
You're a little short on critical details here. At cold start in the morning, what is the oil pressure at idle (about 900RPM), at 2000RPM, and at 4000RPM?
What are the numbers at the same engine speeds when fully warm, say after driving 20 minutes? What does your temp gauge show then? What oil are you using?
Oil pressure will vary with engine speed, oil temperature, and oil type.
Whether the engine is under load or idling (= not under load, it can idle at 4000RPM if the car is standing still) has no effect on oil pressure.
