I believe A/C was offered as a option on V4s starting in 1968. It was an American made unit installed by the dealers. In 1971 the A/C could be ordered and would be installed in New Haven by Saab USA, still American made . If you install A/C you need to pull the engine and install a steel balance shaft gear. The fiber gear will not take the A/C load. Over heating was a big problem with A/C.
