Just got 1971 96 out of winter storage (stored outside, under cover for 5 mos).
When applying brake pedal engine revs go up. Release brake pedal and revs drop back to idle. Notice some faint leaking sound/"hiss" --sound apears to come from brake pedal mechanism inside car when applying brake pedal.
Brake pedal feels a bit "spongy", and then engine revs up.
Have weber 34 ich w/ manual choke. Vacuum line from carb to servo replaced last summer.
Is this due to a vacuum leak to the brake servo unit/ in the servo unit? or a leak in the brake master cylinder? or, a leak in the brake lines?
This did not occur last summer when the car was on the road.
Workshop manual indicates an "air filter" on the servo unit that can be replaced...could this be the vacuum leak I am hearing/experiencing?
Thanks -jsaxcski2
