Yes! Let's hope not!
Even worse are the later freewheels which used 12 tiny rollers with 2 springs per roller. These are much more difficult to rebuild and are also weaker. Most of us replace these with the earlier 6 roller ones. Tom Donney now offers a modern replacement on his website. I haven't tried it, but if Tom offers it, I'm for it!
I see you're primarily a 900 guy. I saw your post on the tripod issue. I'm primarily a V4 guy. I do have one 2 stroke (a '64) and one 900 ('93 vert).
