A/C Refrigerant Pressure Specs
Posted by Andy In Friendswood (more from Andy In Friendswood) on Tue, 10 Jul 2018 13:03:03
I'm looking for the pressure specification for the 9-5 air conditioning system. My pressures are in accord with generic R134a refrigerant pressure tables (example below), but I'm looking for the vehicle-specific pressure and can't find it in the WIS.
Here are my results. What are the actual specifications to which they should be compared; or where is it in the WIS?
• 96°F, 53% relative humidity ambient;
• a/c system on full-cold with windows open;
• 140 psi static pressure;
• 280 psi high-side pressure at ~3000 rpm;
• 55 psi low-side pressure at ~3000 rpm;
• a/c vent temperature equal to ambient temperature, i.e., no cooling at all.
• the underhood temp of the low pressure line should be cold to the touch, if not frosty. It is warm.
• the underhood temp of the high press. line should be very hot, but it is only as hot as the other underhood components.
With those refrigerant (Freon(r)) pressures, this system should be working great. Any suggestions?
