Jeni-I wouldn't entrust a Saab front suspension repair to a tire place, unless you're in a city like Boston or Denver, where they probably do a lot of this stuff. It's not rocket science, but there were some early issues with convex upper mount washers (below the mount) needing to be replaced with a redesigned style because they were basicly turning inside out under pot-hole like stress. Most tire places won't have a clue about this, and you might end up with the same problem after the fix.
I don't recommend that you tackle this yourself. It's way more than a brake job.
Dean mentioned that you might replace struts while you're at it....depending on your mileage this may or not be so. My local dealer always steered me away from replacing struts... saying that they were the least likely thing to go bad. Go figure.
