I would have your fuel checked for alcohol content in percent. If the percent is to high, this can cause the symptom you describe. Any General Motors dealer has this special tool and the test takes about 5 mins. Or you could try changing brands of fuel. Each brand has a different ratio of alcohol content, stay away from no name brands, Lord knows what they put in their fuel. When have your injectors been cleaned last?? Any carbon deposits on the back side of the intake valves?? If your car performs good when warm, I would have teh mechanic put your old parts back on. He obviously used the SWAG method of diagnosis.
