Thanks for your entertaining and informative post.

This is interesting advice. However, I wonder how many clueless monied people will actually believe this guy and his "comparisons" and go out and buy the "bar-of-soap" Audi as a 'performance car'.

I hope the writer reads this board. I steered the magazine here, telling them that the article would come under AUDIt. Hopefully, the more we hold these writers accountable for their product, the better-informed they will become and the more honest their reviews should become.

New York Times ran an honest article on the Viggen last winter. NYT has an ongoing automotive section and I have found the quality and veracity of the writing there consistently high. This is why I keep going there on Sundays to find out what's new although until Saab's new product comes out, I don't expect another Saab piece.

One of the things we suffer from is that these boffins are always looking for something new on the unstated assumption that newer always means better. Saab-ers know better. Sabbers incline to the school of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" conservative mentality.

Coming from where we're coming from, the Viggen is an uniquely envigorating car, deserving a broader market among those who have never considered a Saab before.
