That doesn't look like normal wear and tear. Haven't noticed that type of wear on ours. Our top was replaced, under warranty, about 18 months ago. There was unusual wear around the edge of the rear window, in the fabric. Actually wound up going thru about 2-3 tops before it was right, so to speak - I still think the fit on the replacement isn't up to par with a factory-fitted top, but can't get anywhere with the dealer.
Was the trunk lining replacement a warranty repair? Since you mentioned that it was at the seam, I thought it might be. I would have this spot looked at very closely by the dealer. If you've not had it in a location weher that wear would happen due to external factors, it would seem to be a waarantable repair/replacement (but beware that you want to be sure the fit afterwards is satisfactory).
