Saab Plastics - How Bad?

I have been reading a lot of postings on this board discussing the poor quality of the plastic used on the interior/exterior of the 9-3. For the record, just how bad is this stuff? I've lived in very cold climates where just about any automotive plastic will snap under load. Likewise, I've also lived in very warm climates where some automotive plastics seem to warp when exposed to high heat. In terms of everyday use, in a temperate climate, (and excluding the infamous heater control knobs which appear to have issues of their own) how long will the plastic in things like radio buttons, indicator stalks, door handles, vent controls, mirrors, etc, last? Are these parts going to break into bits as time passes as so many of the postings here seem to suggest, or will these parts still be around (working in one piece) ten years from now when I go to sell the car?
