I am not trying to start an arguement here. I have a new 2002, 9-3 SE, 205 hp, T-7 engine management system, USA market car with just over 700 miles on it.
It shifts 4 (FOUR) times in 0-55 mph driving. Since it is electronic shift, the shift points vary slightly, but the response is indeed phenominal !!
I thought that the car had a 4 speed auto tranny, as you all are posting here, AS WELL AS the SAAB -USA website under the 9-3.
But, I'm telling you that at 60 mph, this car turns (approx. 2,100-2,200 RPM's). Not like other 4 speed 9-3 autos I've ridden and driven.
I remember the "classic" 900 with the 3 speed auto tranny, and the NG 900 with the 4 speed auto tranny, beginning in '94 (as you all so nicely post), but this is either a mistake, or Saab's literature is wrong.
I thought only the '02 9-5's had the new 5 speed automatic tranny, but I say again, the car I HAVE shifts 4 times in 0- 55, 0-60, what-have-you.
I have been treating it nicely so far, until I get it to about 2,000 miles on the odometer, then I will "fully experience" the sport mode...
Those of you who may remember me from the past, know I am not pulling your leg with my claim here.
Regards.
