I'm having trans problems with my 2001 9-3 base. I took the car in with only 1000 miles on it complaining that it is almost impossible to put into 1st gear sometimes. It seems like the gate is being blocked. I also have problems shifting from 2nd to 3rd and I almost have to force it into 3rd. It seems like there is a problem with the synchos not meshing up properly.
Of course the dealer said the transmission was "operating as designed". I am pretty dissapointed in the service I received since I had 14 problems that I wanted fixed (most of them were minor), but 2 of the major ones weren't fixed (the second being a knocking noise from the right front suspension on acceleration and braking, and when backing out of my driveway and turning). I think it may be the CV joint on the passengers side making the noise, or possibly the ball joint(?).
I was kind of pissed off at the dealer's service department because they had an attitude like "Saab's don't ever have these many problems" (like I was making them up, nothing better to do). I know I'm very picky about things, but right is right.
I let Saab know how I feel in the survey I just filled out. Nothing will probably come of it, but at least I got to vent a little bit.
