Same problem on 9-5 Posted by Ian Glenday [Email] (#95) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ian Glenday) on Tue, 12 Feb 2002 20:44:56 In Reply to: Turn Signal Housing Gone....Has This Happened To You???, Kenneth Brownstein, Sun, 10 Feb 2002 22:32:53 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I was lucky and assembly was hanging by the wiring. What is happening (and SAAB is aware) is that the plastic where the screw goes through is deteriating. The small plastic retaining tabs in the front of the 9-5 assembly also broke off. Mine happened on both sides and since it was past 50,000 miles SAAB would not replace free. I found a way to secure with clear plastic tie wraps. Looks better than duct tape and I am unwilling to buy new assemblies that are not improved. Same company makes the expensive wiper arms and blower motor for 9-5.
