You are 100% in the right on this one, ok? This happens to my sisters all the time (though not at Saab dealerships). This dealership has almost certainly acted illegally, and GM and Saab USA would be utterly appalled at their behavior. I'm appalled, I've never heard of a dealer admitting that they failed to follow do-not-repair instructions, admit that they failed to provide an estimate, and then demand payment anyway. It's mind-boggling. Cancel that charge with your credit card company. If you used American Express, they have their own investigations department. Tell the credit card company that you will authorize payment as soon as Patrick Saab produces a signed written estimate. Otherwise, don't pay. And contact your attorney general. The only reason you're going through this right now is because so many people before you thought "oh, it's too much trouble" and let them get away with it.
