my '99 9-3SE HOT came with cloth inlays. Leather wasn't an option there until 2000 I belive. Of course the way the current 9-3 door setup is configured, it's not the best place for cloth since the cloth extends to where your arm rests. As long as your arm doesn't rest on the cloth in the new 9-3, I don't see a problem. Hey look at it this way, if you were to buy a base BMW 3 series, you wouldn't get leather standard and you certainly wouldn't get leather door inserts or leather shift boot or leather steering wheel....Standard.
