Haven't driven the new Accord yet, but magazine reviews have lamented that it still doesn't drive like a sports sedan. I love the interior styling, and the exterior styling is starting to grow on me too (I'm still not crazy about the taillights though). Pretty amazing that Honda extracts 240 hp from their 3.0-liter V6 on regular unleaded gasoline! (87 octane) In contrast, BMW's 3.0-liter inline 6 makes only 225 hp on 93 octane.

My previous car was a '99 Accord EX V6, and while it is extremely competent (I think it actually leans less in corners than my '02 Aero), it lacks the soul of a European car. Competent, ultra reliable, but a bit boring. Honda ads have said to think of it as a "hot librarian"--that's probably true :-)

I've driven the 9-3 SS and it definitely outhandles my '99 Accord, and in sports trim, it'll probably outhandle my Aero! I'm confident it will outhandle the new Accord too.

What's more, the 9-3 SS is much sexier... think of it as Michelle Pfeiffer dressed in black leather, playing Catwoman. Dang it looks good in black! (see the pic below)
