hello all,
First of all I live in belgium (europe) and started driving at the age of 18. My first car was a '96 Ford Fiesta 1.25 zetec 75 hp with airbags and ABS since my father was also really concerned about safety. (He has had a really serious accident when he was 21 and was thrown thrue the front window leaving him in a coma for three months.)Top speed was 115 mph and yes I tried it several times, but was I more dangerous then a 40 year old trying the same? I'm not sure. Well to keep it short I wrecked the car after 3 months. Yes it was my fault, but I did learn from that accident like all of us. (backed into another car at the lights at a speed of 25mph). My second car was a '95 volvo 965 3.0 24v automatic. Top speed of this one was 135mph, never had an accident with it,but sold it because the fuel consumption was too high. Then when I was 19 I got my Saab 9-3 2.2 tid 115hp. Same story here: tried top speed more then several times, but never had an accident with it so far.(if those two are related). I must say that I hand wash my car every week and that I really baby it. As for the payments: The first car I got from my parents, the second one was the older car from my dad witch he didnt used anymore and couldn't sell (because of the taxes on that engine here in belguim)so he brought it back to the dealer a year later when he ordered his new volvo and the last one is payed by me and my dad (50/50). Before you all going to call me an irresponsible driver please note that I have followed special training courses like the VFA and that I drive 25000 miles/year. I'm 22 now.
