The problem is with your heater box, in addition to controls, they both need to be replaced. ($$$$) My understanding is that there was a problem with the lubricant used in the box that causes the controls to bind and break. Just replacing the controls will not resolve the problem, they will break again due to binding. Mine box and controls were replaced under warranty, so I don't know how much it costs. It sounds like yours may not be under warranty. I would check the dealer that you purchased the car to see if they will cover the replacement for you. As I recall it was about 7 hrs labor at the dealer. I hope that this helps.
