I bought one in 2000. I had a Blue Viggen Coupe. I also owned a 96 328is a the time. I considered another BMW and a S4 at the time I bought the Viggen. I love BMWs, but the unique experience of the Viggen won me over. At the end of the day I loved the spirited nature of the Viggen - much better than a 3 series in my opinion. I didn't care for some of the body roll I found with the Viggen, but it was tolerable given how much fun it was to drive. Many have installed the "rescue kit" and have eliminated some of the roll. You really need to run the Viggen out in 3rd gear to compare it to a 3 series. The 330 may be faster off the line, but the Viggen will catch it in the 3rd. Nothing quite like it when the turbo kicks in.
Since then I have had two kids so the coupe had to go. I like to think I now have the best of all worlds with my 02 aero. Just as much fun to drive, but much improved handling and interior with one caveat -- While they say the aero seats are the "same" as the Viggen they aren't....The Viggen has some of the best stock seats in its price class. They are amazing and the two tone blue and black seats were a deal closer for me.
Good luck!
