Premature Conv Top Wear -- Saab won't replace

Hey All -- I'm hoping for some ammo.
I have a 2002 9-3 CV with 49k miles with a hole to the right of the rear window and abrasions against the top of the window as a result of something protruding from the inside of the top against the fabric. I brought it in for the 50K service and for some other warranty work and had them look at the wear on the roof. The regional service rep determined the wear was "normal" and the top was opearing properly. In my opinion, the definition of "normal" wear would be even across all stress points on the top; not in one isolated area.
I searched the archives and noted a few of you (Ed G, Ken, Mark S, and Viggen Driver) all got their tops replaced under warranty for the same issues. You guys referenced a TSB related to relocating the clips that cause this kind of damage. I'd appreciate any and all help anyone can provide; my next step is to appeal to Debra Kelly-Ennis; I doubt that will do anywhere.
To compound the issue, the car is a lease and will be returned at the end of the lease -- am I going to get hit with wear charges for the "normally" worn top? Suddenly I can forsee it being excessive wear.
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
Thanks!
Ryan
