Price sounds good to me ..where can one this car :)
I think as a car gets older in mileage you may need to replace things
such as brakes, struts, suspension parts. In that regard, I don't know
if Toyota or Nissan is cheaper for parts that wear like this..we own
a Mazda and the brake work on that seems a bit cheaper than my dealer would
have charged..the parts and labor were slightly less than Saab but not
that much. I find all Dealer part prices high...a Madza wheel is $250
as is a Saab wheel.
In regards to this 9-3.. if its out of Saab warranty (50k) you need to
check:
#1; was the tensioner pully replaced? If unknown, a low cost maintenance
thing that add reliablility.
a.) Heater knobs/box replaced..this may have only been 1999 problem though.
b.) SID Pixels missing ..was the SID replaced.
c.) Head gasket leaking at all ?
At that price though, any of the above repairs in my mind, still leaves
you ahead of the game as far as car for your money.
Is a big V6 Maxima maintenance free?
