Mike:
It will indeed be difficult to find someone who knows how to replace the inner seal. Anders, clever man that he is, has found a good substitute seal not sold by Saab for this purpose.
Back when I had a 900S I had this problem, and I tried to find a used distributor. It seems there are two Bosch units with the same part number. One has a camshaft position sensor and the other doesn't. I ordered a used one, and the first one that arrived was nice and dry on the inside, but didn't have the cam position sensor I needed. The second one I received had the cam position sensor, but was full of oil just like the one on my car.
At that point I ended up buying a new one for about $300. I never got around to returning the used ones, and they are still knocking around the garage someplace.
I'd be happy to let you have whichever one you need. If you need the one with the cam position sensor, maybe you could ship it to Anders and he could replace the inner seal for you.
Or if you live near Anders, just drive your car over to him and get him to fix the one you've got.
Good luck!
Dave
