ALL of the methods cure the symptom rather than the problem - bent rims, etc show more because they amplify the problem but are not the root -
larger rims have more mass and greater rotational inertia, so they also amplify the problem like a bent rim and require an even more precise balance as experienced using the hunter "racing balance" -
I would suspect the driveshafts are slightly undersized from the factory on these models, and wear in the housings causes the vibration - why? I ran into the same problem when I didn't change my wheels/tires but put a "rebuilt" driveshaft on my 9000 V6 - on acceleration the front vibrated significantly but hardly at all on cruise - so why 50-70mph? That's where the harmoic causes the most amplification - 100-140 should show a second, higher pitched vibrated occurring...
so I would look into the driveshafts and you may need some new or ones that fit tighter in the housing - that solved my vibration (rebuilt was new shaft but old housing - new housing did it)
