Sorry to say but it sounds like you might need a new (or good used) engine.
Since you seem to have been loosing a lot of oil lately, one scenario that I think of is if the water pump bearing have gone bad, allowing the water pump pulley to cut into the timing cover and grinding a hole right into the engine.
And now you ran out of oil completly, damaging the bearings in engine.
After they have found the problem and if you need an engine, I would suggest to look for a good used engine and have that one installed.
That might run you in the $2 to $3K price range all depending on what you can get the used engine for.
