I've owned classic 900's for years and am looking at a 1995 900 4-cylinder. I drove the car today and just about fell in love with it. The body is spotless-zero rust; the interior likewise is remarkably clean. No unusual engine or suspension noises. It's a 5-speed, has 141k and the dealer offered it to me for $1500.

A few concerns I have, some of which were answered by searching here at Saabnet (thank you), and a couple of questions I was aunable to find answers for:

-clutch: the clutch feels a little stiff and makes a faint metallic sound when pressing the pedal down. My '85 900 has made this sound the past year, but a year later I'm still driving the car... Is this a bad clutch or something I'll need to replace sometime soon? If so, what typically is the cost?

-heater control: doesn't work (manual control). The blower motor works, but the vent and heater controls do not which I will have to address immediately as I live in Vermont. From what I've found at here on Saabnet it sounds like this is a repair I can tackle myself in about an hour or so. How much typically does this cost in parts?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
