So I think it might be time to do some brake work on my 2000 Viggen, but I need some help. I HAVE been reading a lot, learned a little, but still have questions unfortunately. Here's where I stand...
When I apply the brakes, I feel some vibration. It seems like from the front but I can't be positive. Had the wheels off yesterday and looked at the pads and rotors. Front pads seem to have about 3/8" left on them, but the rear pads are lower (maybe 1/4"). Rotors are shiny and still have visible gooves, outer edges where vents are are rusty but I imagine that's normal.
Could I just be incapable of accurately perceiving the source of the vibrations and it's the rear pads?
Also, been researching pads and rotors for my Viggen. I don't brake hard, but dust is a big issue since I have the original brilliant Viggen rims and find myself always cleaning them. Although a lot of people love Greenstuff pads, seems there are more counter-complaints (noisy, etc) about them than ceramic ones. Reputable places like eEuroparts have ceramic... are they all they're cracked up to be? I read that there's nothing special about Viggen pads and they are the same as a regular 9-3... correct?
As far as rotors... I know Viggen rotors are different. A lot of people say there are no after-market rotors for the Viggen but I found eEuroparts selling rear ones from Brembo that they've grooved themselves:

However, I have only found OEM for the front rotors. This still the case?
Doing the brakes and rotors myself is probably just out of my league as far as DIY (plus this is my only car) so I'll probably buy the parts and take it to an indy.
