I put a voltmeter on the battery to see what is going on.
With the car off and sitting overnight, the battery voltage was 11.1 volts. Turn the engine over and the voltage spiked to 13.6ish volts, but witin a few seconds, the vehicle idled down and the voltage sank to under 10. The car almost stalled, but seemed to catch itself and returned to normal idle and voltage.
With the car running the voltage never got above 13.6 volts. With the car off and the radio on, the car voltage slowly crept downward as low as 10.95 volts but started right up and returned to 13.6.
I had the doors open and the stereo on with the key in the off position on the ignition. Within 5 minutes the car would not start - dead battery clicks were heard.
Waited five minutes and the charge seemed to recover - car started but took several starter motor turns.
Battery fluid levels all fine.
I have always noticed a sharp voltage drop when I hit the 4 window down or up button. Like when your AC kicks on tin the housee and the lights dim. Is this related?
Sound like time for a battery?
