Conventional wisdom goes with Mobil 1 full synthetic 0W40, which i believe to be the primary recommendation from Saab these days. There are other quality
oils available.
I mix 1 qt 15W50 summer fills, I think the Mobil runs a bit on the thin side (compared to what??).
If your oil change intervals have not been of the severe service type, long, stop and go and such, you should be OK without a flush.
I switched to full synth at about 70K.
A look under the valve cover would add confidence.
Get a 6pt 13mm socket, order a spare oil plug along with a few filters from online sponsors. Get a jack stand, learn what 20 ft-lbs feels like to tighten the plug.
Changing your own oil makes convenient collecting sample for used oil analysis, your on your way to obsessing over your Saab.
Take care of that Viggen! It's a special car.
