Viggen oil consumption

I have a 2002 Viggen coupe (hers) with 70K miles that uses 2 quarts of synthetic oil between 3000 mile oil changes. The car isn't driven hard, there are no leaks, and the car doesn't smoke at all. The dealer has looked into it twice and but tells me that the factory says it is normal for this high output engine. I call BS. What do you guys think?
I just bought another 2002 Viggen coupe (mine, Laser Red) and will be able to compare oil comsumption between the two, but would like to hear from other Viggen owners.
