I have a '97 SETC with 165k miles on it. A couple weeks ago my CEL came on and my transmission would not shift from third. Took it to a transmission place and they said the CEL was giving a ground fault error code. They taped up some wires and everything was fine. A week later it happened again, I drove the car to work, on the way it started working again, everything was fine for a week, same problem, lasted about five minutes then went back to normal, for the last three weeks it hasn't happened again. However, I have also been experianceing a problem starting which has been getting worse lately, the car will start fine for a couple days then have trouble, then be fine for a day, then have trouble again. I had trouble showing my Indie since it would never do it when I went by there until I noticed that it normally happened after I had done some driving and if I let the car sit an hour or more, it usually has no trouble starting. Since I cant get anyone who can diagnose all this, I came to the people who know, and after a bit of catching up on reading I started thinking this could all be related to the DI cassette, since it does have almost 10 years and 165,000 miles on it, anyone have a different diagnosis, and if not where is the best place to get a DI from? Thanks in advance for any comments/advice.
