I think it's a little paranoid. I'll tell you my take on it. I think there's are some cheap knockoffs making the rounds and the people who're having them go out every 30K are victims. And buying them from the dealer is no garentee-dealers have been know to pass off cheapy aftermarket parts as genuine Saab. More importantly I've been following your posts and I think you really need to take a pill. Every make of car has a service department and the don't keep the lights on by just doing oil changes and tune ups (I've worked at Honda, Toyota and Subaru dealerships). There is no 100% garentee no matter what you buy. All cars break sooner or later. Buy a car you at least like, drive it, enjoy it and if someday it lets you down then that's just life. There's an old saying, "a coward dies a 1000 times, a brave man only dies once." Saabs are wonderful cars to own but no one can garentee you'll never have a moment of unpleasentness. Nor can any other brand of car. Relax, enjoy, you aren't buying an artificial heart here.
