Guys:
Thanks to great coaching and tips from SAABNET Members,
I was able to discover the cause behind the cylinder 4 misfire
CEL code. --- COOLANT!!!!!!
When I removed the DIC, I saw some coolant around cylinder 4's
spark plug. The plugs were quite old and the one from cylinder 4 was corroded. I cleaned out the well or cavity and installed the new plugs. I "killed" the existing code by disconnecting the battery. I fired up the engine and drove it about 10 miles with no problems....and no CEL came on. When the engine cooled I took out the DIC and checked for
coolant in the "well." It was just a few drops...but there is a definite leak causing some coolant to get into the well or cavity where the spark plugs. Any suggestions whether the problem is the valve cover seal or the head gasket? Thanks in advance.
