Excellent point.
I freaked out the first time I took off the DIC.
The drops were vibrant green...like straight
coolant or awfully clean coolant.
The coolant in the resevoir is also very
bright green.
I cannot "feel" any wetness as I feel around the
seal (black silicone) that I am assuming is
the valve cover -- which goes around the
rectangular cavity or well the DIC fits into.
I noticed the ports that go over the spark plugs
were wet.
Each time I check the cavity/well, there is some
moisture, but not a lot.
I'm wondering whether someone spilled coolant
(straight) onto the DIC and it is weeping out
of 2nd and 4th port.
Keep in mind that even when the CEL was on it
was for an intermittent misfire and the
engine started and ran reasonably well.
If there is no coolant circulating around the well
ABOVE the bottom of the cavity/well, then the coolant
has to have made its way into it by accident vs.
by leak (gravity 101).
Your thoughts are much appreciated.
By the way, I decided to buy the car for $1K.
It has been reasonably cared for and worth
the risk (prayers and coaching make it so).
Thanks,
Frank
