parts department today and noticed the Saab sign gone and all Saabs on dealers lot were also gone. Parts man said they sent all the Saab stuff back and are no longer a dealer and cannot order parts anymore. Saw the Saab service tech on the way out and he says they no longer will service the cars but can do stuff like tires and oil changes. And this guy was a pretty good tech too, he was the only one working on the cars the last 5 years and is now going to Cadillac training to work on the cars they will keep selling...for now. Next closest dealer is 150 miles from here so I guess that means the CPO on my 05 9-5 Aero is useless as well. And for down south, these guys were pretty damn good, nice folks too.

At least the local indie will be busy servicing all these cars since the dealership bailed a month sooner than anticipated.

BTW-your story. It was 1985 in Raleigh, NC. A Toyota dealership took on the hot selling (at the time) Saab brand to make a quick buck. My shiny almost new 1984 Saab 900 3 dr. Turbo (I loved that car) was in for 15k service. A big burly bubba came out and asked for my key wearing a shirt with the badges "Junior" and "Toyota" (this guy had to be pushing 350 lbs. or so). He disappeared for about 20 minutes and came back red-faced, by passing the equally dim-witted service advisor, and says "Whar do ya put the key in that thang". I responded "who is working on this car today?" He says..."I is". I retrieved my key, never to return to that dealership again. Those were the days. Times have changed and GM has wrecked the company.
