9 out of 10 people don't know FWD from RWD or what cars feature which. So, you can do your RWD look if you want with wider rear tires.
In general, the rear tires will have less flex (assuming you stick with a plus-one sizing plan). This will cause the rear to stick tight a little better, leading to an understeer issue as the front breaks away first. If it already oversteers, you might just balance it out.
I suppose you could even violate teh plus-1 and use taller rear tires, further increasing the RWD muscle car look. That might even balance back the other way in handling. I have a feeling it will be a little odd but with adjustable Konis you might be able to bring it back to handle well. If you have not lowered your car, it still has the awkwardly high stock rear end, so it will probably not look out of sorts - except to a Saab owner - with larger rear tires.
However, it all depends on the other handling changes you've made. YMMV.
